Free Youth Graffiti Workshop: Stencil and Spray

Free graffiti art workshop for Youth age 8–18 with Guest Artists Max “GEMS” Gonzalez and Jerome “CHU” Charles
May 14th 4:00–6:00pm
Location: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Hazelwood
GEMS and CHU will lead participants through the process of creating hand-cut stencils. We will then spray those stencils onto a large board lined with mini canvases that participants can take home! We will also paint a large canvas that will have the name of the neighborhood that will be displayed at the library!
Participants will learn how to create big block letters, spraypaint techniques in outlining, fills and stenciling.

This program is hosted by the Hemispheric Conversations Urban Art Project. HCUAP is working in partnership with Rivers of Steel Arts and The University of Pittsburgh, to galvanize the relationship between post-industrial environments and urban arts.
