About

Caitlin Frances Bruce, PhD. Is Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Pittsburgh. She researches public art in transnational and transitional contexts with a focus on graffiti, street art, muralism, and feminist art. Her first book is Painting Publics: Transnational Legal Graffiti Scenes as Spaces for Encounter. She is inspired by the way that public art can bring different people together, and is influenced by her background volunteering with her parent’s not-for-profit theater company in Washington Heights, Moose Hall.
